Sanders is one of a new biography series for kids.

Quick overview:  (from Zondervan)

“Jesus---part of the Get to Know series---is a biography written especially for 6-10 year olds looking for accurate, historical information about Biblical characters. With photographs and other primary sources to enrich content, young readers are sure to find out everything they need to know about Jesus and his place in history.”

My thoughts:

This is a well done overview of the life of Jesus, starting before He was born to His ascension into Heaven.

It can be hard for us, and especially kids, to visualize what life might have been like so long ago.  The author really does well with bringing this time period to life.  Sanders uses photographs of artifacts and places, paintings and maps to really help the reader visualize what is being talked about.

As a homeschooler, I think this book is a great read-aloud or independent study.  This book is great for a unit study, what with the vocabulary (bolded in green and defined at the bottom of each page), historical content, geography (maps), artwork, and the subject..

I would definitely recommend this book, and we look forward to reading the rest of the biographies in this series!

Disclosure:  I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
