{Tot School} hear and smell

We are using Hubbard's Cupboard 2's Curriculum, adding in letters, shapes and colors. Emma is 28 months old.

Bible Memory:
Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Five Senses {hear and smell}

Emma loved all the books this week, but her favorite was I Smell a Rat.  It's a book based around the movie Ratatouille with little scented circles to scratch and sniff.  It was perfect to teach her exactly how to sniff - she had a hard time getting the hang of it at first and once she did she could hardly wait until the next scratch and sniff.  We read this book several times per her request.

Language Arts and Math:
I don't insist on any learning on Emma at this early age.  She wasn't too interested in learning any of the math and language arts I had planned - and that's okay!  It's more important for her to play.  She did get some learning in this area though, through the ipad.  She chose Starfall a lot and Park Math.

We have a music bin of various little instruments that we got out and played with during the week.  Emma was a fan of wearing the jingle bells around her wrists and going about her day like that.  lol.

We read Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? and then listened to our rain stick (this is something I had from childhood that my dad had bought me from a zoo gift shop) then we made Rainy Sky Jello.  Of course, Emma loved this.

She loves her baby brother now and sometimes included him in her little games.  Here she was naming all the animals for him.
